Our Approach
At Komal’s Daycare, we believe early childhood should feel joyful, safe, and full of discovery. Children learn best when they’re cared for like family, nourished with real food, and given the freedom to explore. Our program combines the warmth of home with the structure of Montessori principles.

Fresh, homemade vegetarian meals with produce from our backyard and local markets. Children help plant and water over 300 plants, learning where their food comes from — and getting excited to eat it. Every meal is balanced, wholesome, and made to nourish growing bodies and curious minds.

We believe the best lessons happen outside. Our backyard is a little piece of nature, filled with greenery, climbing toys, and space to explore. Here, play teaches more than academics — it builds confidence, balance, teamwork, and conflict resolution in the most fun and natural way.

Our curriculum blends Montessori-inspired exploration with age-appropriate structure. Children learn letters, numbers, pre-writing, and self-help skills — building the confidence and readiness they need for kindergarten and beyond. Some of our earliest little ones are thriving all the way at Berkeley now, and we couldn’t be prouder.

With over 20 years in early childhood education, we’ve seen it all — and every child still surprises us. Experience has taught us that no two children learn the same way, and our program is built around meeting each child where they are so they feel supported, understood, and encouraged every step of the way.
Our Day
At Komal’s Daycare, our days follow a gentle, structured rhythm that still leaves plenty of room for play and imagination. Kids start their morning easing in with free play, then move through outdoor time, snacks, circle time, and a simple theme-based activity or craft. After lunch and rest, we wrap the day with our Montessori work cycle—hands-on, calm, and age-appropriate.
It’s a balance that gives children comfort in routine while keeping each day fun, seasonal, and connected to our weekly theme. Little ones stay engaged, curious, and excited to come back the next morning.

What's for lunch?
Children help plant and water over 300 plants, learning where their food comes from and getting excited to eat it. Every meal is balanced, wholesome, and made to nourish growing bodies and curious minds. In addition to nutritious homemade lunches, we offer morning and afternoon snacks, often fruits or vegetables straight from our garden. We grow pears, persimmons, figs, spinach, cucumbers, tomatoes, broccoli, and more. Our vegetarian menu is inspired by simple home-cooked meals, thoughtfully adapted for tiny palates and packed with the nutrients they need to grow strong and healthy.
